The Umiam Lake also called Barapani is an artificial lake in the Meghalaya state of India. It offers various water sport activities, a garden, islands and panoramic views of the East Khasi Hills. Umiam Lake offers absolutely gorgeous views and is a must-visit if you are around Shillong. We couldn’t do boating as it was raining on and off during our visit, but even just sitting and taking in the scenery was worth it. From the parking lot, there’s a short walk to the lake — easily doable.
