India’s Tejas MK-2 will get a first-of-its-kind triple-computer architecture — raising safety, performance and indigenous capability to new heights. The TEJAS MK-2 program is progressing steadily, with the prototype’s rollout and ground testing on track for late 2025, and the first flight anticipated in the first quarter of 2026. The Tejas programme is a cornerstone of India's ambition to develop and manufacture its own combat aircraft. The Tejas Mk2 , also referred to as the Medium Weight Fighter (MWF), is being developed as a 4.5-generation multirole combat aircraft. The TEJAS MK-2 , an advanced version of India's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), is being developed by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) in collaboration with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
