A). Definition of Sexual Harassment ? Sexual harassment is defined by the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 as any unwanted physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature, including advances and physical contact, demands or requests for sexual favors, sexually suggestive comments, the display of pornographic material, and any other unwelcome patterns of conduct. At its core, sexual harassment is any unwanted behavior—physical, verbal, or even subtle gestures—that has a sexual undertone and makes someone feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or disrespected at work. Here we highlight how awareness of India’s POSH Act empowers young adults to identify misconduct, foster respect, and build safer, more equitable professional spaces. Sexual harassment refers to unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that violates an individual’s dignity and rights. While it disproportionately affects women, sexual harassment can target anyone regardless of gender. The behavior creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment that interferes with a person’s right to live with dignity and equality.
