Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata (1856–1926) was an Indian businessman who played a pivotal role in the growth of the Tata Group in India. He was the first-cousin of Jamsetji Tata and one of the partners in " Tata Sons" founded by Jamsetji Tata . Tata Sons Private Limited, established in 1917, is the principal holding company and promoter of the Tata Group, India’s largest and one of the world’s most respected conglomerates. Tata Titans Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata JRD Tata pioneered civil aviation in the subcontinent in 1932 when he launched Tata Airlines. But that was only one of many path-breaking achievements of JRD, who guided the destiny of the Tata group for more than half a century Ratanji Tata was a Parsi industrialist and philanthropist who helped establish the Tata conglomerate and donated to various causes. He was born in 1871, married Navajbai, adopted Naval Tata , and died in 1918 in England.
