Pharmacodynamics is the study of mechanisms behind drug actions. It helps us understand the behaviour of drugs inside a body and the way body reacts to the drugs. Every class of drug preserves a unique mechanism of action mostly through different receptor proteins... Learn how drugs interact with biological systems and produce effects. Explore the concepts of receptor, non-receptor, and signal transduction mechanisms, as well as factors influencing drug action and clinical applications. In this articles I mention the basics of pharmacodynamics, principle of drug actions, cellular drug targets or general mechanism of drug action. Pharmacodynamics studies a drug's molecular, biochemical, and physiologic effects or actions. It comes from the Greek words "pharmakon," meaning "drug," and "dynamikos," meaning "power."
