The National Security Agency/Central Security Service leads the U.S. Government in cryptology that encompasses both signals intelligence insights and cybersecurity products and services that enables computer network operations to gain a decisive advantage for the nation and our allies. The NSA was created in part out of the belief that the importance and distinct character of communications intelligence warranted an organization distinct from both the armed forces and the other intelligence agencies.
