Are weighted pistol squats a good mass builder for the legs; specifically the glutes ? I have been hammering down on heavy kettlebell front squats but get a bit obsessive regarding symmetry so wanted to incorporate some unilateral leg work to rectify any imbalances. Is this a good exercise? Is... The glutes extend and externally rotate the hip, generally speaking. This means that to get internal rotation, the glutes must be allowed to lengthen in that range of motion. For the glutes this means hip internal rotation. Jamming your legs out sideways via clamshells, etc will only shorten the glutes more, and keep you more in external rotation. Try split squats and single leg deadlift variations where you: a) keep pressure through the mid foot of your working leg. No clawing the floor with your toes! Hey all, Trying to find any article, study, research supporting the statement that “grip, abs and glutes are great neural generators.” Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
