The Global Hunger Index (GHI) is a peer-reviewed report, published on an annual basis by Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe. The GHI is a tool designed to comprehensively measure and track hunger at global , regional, and national levels, reflecting multiple dimensions of hunger over time. Note: This 2025 Global Hunger Index report supersedes all former GHI results. As always, rankings and index scores from this table cannot be accurately compared to rankings and index scores from previous reports. The 2000, 2008, and 2016 scores and indicator data contained within this table and the 2025 report are currently the only data that can be used for valid comparisons of the GHI over time (see Methodology). The 2024 Global Hunger Index (GHI) is the 19th in a series of annual reports that present the hunger situation globally, by region, and at the country level using a multidimensional approach. With the 2030 target for achieving Zero Hunger fast approaching, this year's report makes it starkly clear that the world is far from meeting this critical goal.
