Firozpur district is one of the twenty-three districts in the state of Punjab, India. It was founded by Firoz Shah Tughluq and has a population of 1,001,931 as of 2011. Ferozepur is a city in western Punjab state, northwestern India. It is located in the Malwa Plains, about 5 miles (8 km) east of the border with Pakistan.
