Faredoon Jehangir Ghandy was a notable early 20th-century colonial shipping marine engineer. After extensive technical training in Bombay, he joined Killick, Nixon & Co., a leading British shipping company in India. Mahatma Gandhi had a “foster son” whose name was “ Feroz Jehangir Ghandy ” the son of “ Faredoon Jehangir Ghandy ”! Feroz Jehangir Ghandy was a Parsi Muslim and very close to Nehru family. Sir Jehangir Ghandy CIE, Assoc. CStJ (18 November 1896 – 17 April 1972) was an Indian businessperson who is credited with building Tata Steel at Jamshedpur. He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 1958. [1] Feroze Jehangir Gandhi, originally named Feroze Jehangir Ghandy , left his studies at a British-run college to join the freedom movement. Then he became closely involved with the Nehru family, spending significant time at Anand Bhawan, their residence and a key hub for political activity.
