He married Surekha Konidela in 1980, and they have two daughters named Sushmita and Srija, and a son named Ram Charan, who is a well-known actor in the Telugu film industry. The couple has three children: two daughters, Sushmitha and Sreeja, and a son, Ram Charan. Ram Charan is one of the highest paid actors of Indian cinema.
