Asad Ahmed (born 21 July 1971) is a Pakistani guitarist. He has been a member of various musical groups and some of the earliest Pakistani rock bands like The Barbarians, Awaz, Karavan, Junoon, Vital Signs as well as Coke Studio Pakistan. [1][2] ATIQ Ahmed 's son, Asad , has been killed by a team of Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force in an encounter on Wednesday in Jhansi. Asad Ahmed is the third son of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed . The Uttar Pradesh Police also claimed that they recovered "sophisticated foreign made weapons" during the action. Asad was the third son of gangster-cum-politician Atiq Ahmed and is said to have taken the reins of Atiq’s dreaded gang last August after his two elder brothers surrendered in court. Asad Q. Ahmed is an American scholar who is the Magistretti Distinguished Professor of Middle Eastern Languages and Culture and Professor of Arabic and Islamic studies in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures at the University of California, Berkeley. [2][3] He is also the director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies.
