Her goal, from that day onwards, was not just to become adept at walking with a prosthetic leg but scale the highest point in the world – Mount Everest. Arunima Sinha was the first female Indian amputee to scale the Mount Everest, a feat which she achieved on May 21, 2013. Just two years after losing her leg in an accident, she scripted history climbing Mount Everest as the first woman amputee . Arunima Sinha is the world's first female amputee to climb Mount Everest. She lost her leg in a train accident in 2011 and became a national hero and a role model for many.
