The Human Rights Council is a UN body of 47 States that promotes and protects all human rights worldwide. It meets at the UN Office at Geneva and discusses thematic and situational issues throughout the year. Final, adopted resolutions, decisions and President’s statements are stored in the United Nations Official Document System (ODS). They are findable through their symbol numbers. In parallel, many other sites and libraries provide access to these adopted texts as well as to a variety of associated information. War crimes, racism, arbitrary detention and rape as a weapon of war: these just a few of the pressing international issues over which the UN Human Rights Council deliberates.
